My Podcast ‘Tripping with Nick Sun’ launched today.
I’m talking to all sorts of medicine people, wisdom keepers, healers, trippers, fringe dwellers, the odd comedian, and in general folks with an outside angle to chat about what the hell is going on right now, how did we get here, how do we live and how to best cultivate an effective Metacrisis Mindset (Trademark buzzword filled catchphrase here). There will also be stuff on psychedelic healing and whatever else unfolds on from here.
In this first episode I chat to the venerable John Seed. John is an Australian environmentalist and director of the Rainforest Information Centre, which campaigned to save the sub-tropical rainforests of New South Wales as well vast tracts of cloud forest in Ecuador. He is also a prominent figure in the Deep Ecology movement and runs workshops that seek to reconnect humans back to nature and their place within in.
I attempted to first record this episode midway through an Ayahuasca journey but was interrupted by intense vomiting and hallucinations of a blinking third eye on Johns forehead which I found very distracting so we had to redo it another day, and this is the results.
In this conversation John and I discuss all sorts of things including the separation of humans from nature, the great forgetting, getting out of the way of yourself in order to serve a higher purpose, the healing of a serious illness via psychedelics, and what the Earth might look like without us here.
